Thank you for your interest in joining JanNo... maybe you've heard Amanda talking about it and you couldn't find anything about it online?

If the answer is "yes" then you've come to the right place!

It's still a very new site but the basic idea of JanNo is very similar to NaNo except that you set your own writing target for the whole of January and you write like you're on fire for the entire 31 days.

A bit of an introduction to Amanda and JanNo to start off with.

Amanda's first NaNo was in 2011 so it must have been in either 2012 or 2013 that she first heard about JanNo. It seemed to last a few years then fizzled out and people suddenly stopped talking about it. Amanda found NaNo and JanNo motivational so has kept writing for JanNo ever since.

The idea behind JanNo is that you can set your own target for writing or editing a novel throughout January each year. There's no pre-set target and editing is encouraged as much as writing... it's you, the writer, who decides on everything except the dates.

Personally speaking, Amanda challenges herself to write at least 50,000 words during January, just like with NaNo, but that's purely her own personal target because it's easier to plan out two 50,000 word novels a year than getting them muddled up and not winning NaNo.

You, dear writer, are totally responsible for your JanNo challenge, so make it a challenge rather than something that's achievable in your sleep.

Thank you for joining Amanda on this journey.
